Air Biometrics

AirBiometrics is a company founded in December 2020 in Castellon, Spain, by a multidisciplinary team whose main objective is to develop a point-of-care in vitro diagnostic (IVD) medical device that addresses the limitations of current systems for the diagnosis and monitoring of chronic inflammatory diseases such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (which includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), psoriasis, and arthritis, in order to improve patients’ quality of life. These limitations often delay detection and prevent outbreaks from being anticipated. Our solution is a portable device that uses a non-invasive sample (saliva) to identify and quantify specific biomarkers with rapid results (within minutes) and, in future phases, will integrate Artificial Intelligence for prediction. This will allow early detection, the application of preventive and personalized treatments, as well as decongestion and cost savings in the healthcare system. To date, we have conducted at least three preclinical studies with more than 250 patient samples, identifying biomarkers in saliva, and have filed a European patent while developing the device prototype.
